What is Orton-Gillingham?
Orton-Gillingham is a structured literacy method for teaching children who have trouble reading due to dyslexia or other learning issues. This method uses a specific way of teaching reading and spelling to help children improve their skills. Certified specialists use this method in both one-to-one and small-group settings.

Welcome! My name is Kathryn Barbosa, and I am a licensed teacher in Massachusetts, as well as an International Dyslexia Association-certified Orton-Gillingham method tutor (Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist). I work with children in the elementary grades to develop their literacy skills in an effort to improve academic success across all subjects. My goal is to meet your reader where they are and help them become active, engaged, cognitive readers.
